!!! Important notice !!! Modulator Jane's sound converter is a standalone Java application : it requires a standalone version of Java (1.1 or later) to be installed on your computer. If you don't have a standalone Java installed on your machine yet, you may download it (it is free !) from the following locations : Windows95, Windows98, Windows2000, WindowsNT and Solaris users :
Linux users (JDK 1.1.x) : http://www.blackdown.org/java-linux/mirrors.html Macintosh users (MRJ 2.1.4) http://www.apple.com/java/ Do not hesitate, as this software is really a must ! It will allow any standard Java application to run on your computer. If you are not into Java programming, you will better choose one of the JRE (Java Runtime Environment) versions if available, as they are smaller in size than the JDK (Java Development Kit). For Modulator Jane's sound converter, any 1.1.x version of the JRE or JDK will fit (size of the JRE 1.1.7. is about 4 megabytes). More recent versions (1.2.x) will work as well, but since they are heavier, choose one of these only if you really need to use specific Java 1.2 programs, and/or if you have enough space on your disk. |
